Teaching
My passion for teaching comes from helping students build confidence in their ability to understand and apply chemistry. Across organic chemistry, biomolecular condensates, and modern characterization methods, I emphasize mechanistic thinking, problem solving, and connections between fundamental concepts and contemporary research. I also value working closely with students through discussion, office hours, and individualized support to help them grow into independent, curious scientists.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Instructor of Record, Phase Separation in Biology (Stanford University, Summer 2024)
Developed and delivered an interdisciplinary course examining the physical principles, molecular interactions, experimental methods, and biological functions of biomolecular condensates. Guided students in critically evaluating primary literature and connecting concepts from chemistry, biophysics, and cell biology.
Instructor of Record, Organic Chemistry 51C (University of California, Irvine, Summer 2022)
Taught the third course in the undergraduate organic chemistry sequence. Duties included lecture preparation and delivery, assessment design and grading, office hours, and individualized student support. Emphasized mechanistic reasoning, synthesis, and the application of organic chemistry concepts to complex molecular systems.
Guest Lecturer for Instrumental Analysis (California State University, Long Beach)
“Electron microscopy of soft and biological matter.” Engaged undergraduates with modern electron microscopy methods for understanding soft matter structure and dynamics.

Mentorship and Outreach
My approach to mentorship is grounded in meeting students where they are and recognizing that trainees arrive with different backgrounds, experiences, and levels of access to research. I am passionate about creating supportive research environments where students can ask questions, build confidence, and develop increasing scientific independence. Through research mentoring, scientific communication, career guidance, and outreach to community college and early-stage students, I aim to help trainees navigate both the technical and personal dimensions of becoming scientists while broadening access to research and academic opportunities.

Mentored undergraduate and graduate researchers in experimental design, laboratory methods, data analysis, scientific interpretation, and troubleshooting. Guided trainees through the full research process, from developing hypotheses and planning experiments to presenting results and identifying next research directions.
